Wind Power Plants and Wind Farms Definitions

In recent correspondence with colleagues, I noted the unfortunate reoccurrence of the term “wind parks” to describe wind farms or more correctly wind power plants. This is a common misuse of the words in English by native speakers and those for whom English is a second language. As I’ve explained for at least three decades, the word “parks” has a loaded political meaning and has deliberately been misused in the past. It’s best to avoid its use when writing or talking about wind energy.
