I’ve been taking pictures of energy related subjects since the 1970s when I began campaigning against nuclear power and the surface-mining of coal. This was long before the advent of digital cameras. Several years ago I had selected photos in my collection commercially digitized. Today, these photos are mostly of historical interest.
I’ve been using digital cameras since the early 2000s.
The following pages include some of the photos from my collection, including both digital and scanned images.
My photographs have appeared for hire in Popular Science, Sierra, Solar Age, Alternative Sources of Energy, L’Espresso, Air & Space Smithsonian, Windpower Monthly, WindStats, Renewable Energy World, and other magazines, in several engineering and physics textbooks, on brochures and posters published by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, by Friends of the Earth (UK), by the Union of Concerned Scientists, and the World Wildlife Fund.
I have also been collecting cultural icons featuring wind turbines for many years. These are part of my collection and have been included here. This topic now has three dozen subsections and many of those have several categories within them. Some of these icons can be found in my books.
