Today I publicly urged Bakersfield area congressmen Vince Fong and David Valadao to invoke Article 25 of the US Constitution and immediately remove President Donald Trump from office as unfit to serve.
Article 25 differs from impeachment, which requires the House of Representatives to indict a president, and the Senate to convict and remove a president from power. Article 25 allows the vice president with a majority of the cabinet to remove a president if they determine he is unfit to serve.
President Trump is clearly unfit to serve. However, I am not naive. Trump has surrounded himself with sycophants whose power and influence are solely due to their proximity to power. They are unlikely to move on Trump unless forced.
The Republican Party, which currently rules Congress, has cowardly kowtowed to every Trump whim. In doing so it has become morally and politically bankrupt. To begin rebuilding the GOP, Congressional Republicans must finally stand up to the petty tyrant, demanding that Vice President Vance and the Cabinet remove him from office immediately before he can do more damage to America and American interests.
Representatives Valadao and Fong are Republicans. They can and should call on the Vice President and the Cabinet to exercise Article 25 if for nothing else to save the shambles of the Republican Party from destruction.

There’s no time to lose. Reps. Vince Fong and David Valadao must call for Article 25 now and immediately remove President Trump from power. Trump is a danger to the nation, to the world, and probably himself. He needs to be in a hospital for the criminally insane not governing the world’s most powerful army. Fong and Valadao must do what is right at this dangerous moment. Anything less puts us all at risk. No more wars for oil. No more wars for minerals. No more wars of conquest. No more murders of citizens on the streets of America by Trump’s secret police.
