On 9 January 2008 the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins finagled my participation with a half dozen colleagues for a private presentation to Vice President All Gore and his senior advisers. It was a rare opportunity and I seized it. I joined Birger Madsen from Denmark and Stanford’s Mark Jacobson. It was exhilarating to learn that I and Mark Jacobson had reached similar conclusions from different starting points. Gore took me aside later and complimented me on my presentation.
