Photos of Damaged Giromill at Grevenbroich Test Site

By Paul Gipe

On 21 November Thilo Wirth visited the Grevenbroich test site west of Cologne and took several photos of the damaged Agile Wind Power’s Vertical Sky 32.

The Swiss-built straight-blade VAWT lost one of its three rotor arms and blade Sunday 15 November. The prototype turbine was installed at the site in September and was still undergoing testing.

The H-configuration VAWT at Grevenbroich is 32 meters in diameter and each straight blade is 54 meters long, giving the machine 1,730 m² of swept area.
