There are several articles on Mariah’s Windspire Vertical Axis Wind Turbine under the category by that name on this web site. I’ve posted some of the photos I’ve collected of this wind turbine as an architectural adornment here for historical reference in the faint hope that this will serve to deter others from making the same mistakes again.
Mariah Windspire Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine installed as part of the San Francisco Public Utility Commission building in San Francisco in 2015. It’s unlikely the controversial installation ever generated any usable energy. This was part of a move by architects and small wind turbine manufacturers to use wind turbines as architectural bling.
