At long last there is another DC Fast Charger (DCFC) in Bakersfield. For many years the only DCFC station in the Bakersfield metropolitan area was at the Nissan Dealer in Gasoline Alley.
The EVgo station at the Walmart Supercenter at Panama Lane and Hwy 99 (6225 Colony St, Bakersfield CA 93307) began service in early November.
The new station contains two dual chargers that can serve cars with either CHAdeMO or CSS connectors.
The single charger at the Nissan dealer provided CHAdeMO, the Japanese standard, only.
EVgo also installed two dual DCFC stations at the Walmart Supercenter in Delano (530 Woollomes Ave, Delano CA 93215) north of Bakersfield.
There remains a substantial gap in charge stations between Bakersfield and the Grapevine on I-5. There is one CHAdeMO station at Gorman on the south side of the Tejon Pass.
