Ecovision, a developer of solar investment funds in Freiburg, created an investment vehicle to install solar PV systems on the roof tops of several schools in Stuttgart. The targeted return for investors is 4% before personal tax. Typically investors don’t pay tax on the earnings of the project until it has paid for itself in the 10 to 14th year. Middle-age investors view these funds as “solar pensions” that will earn returns when they near retirement.
