In 1997, Canadian meteorologist Jim Salmon reported that a 50 kW DAF-Indal turbine at Christopher Point, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, west of Victoria, British Coumbia had been in service for 16 years. During that time the last in the DAF-Indal line had operated almost 35,000 hours and generated nearly 600,000 kWh. Carl Brothers operated a similar model at Canada’s Atlantic Wind Test Site on Prince Edward Island for more than 15 years.
