The logic of asking for plans to achieve 100% renewable generation is the certainty that, as imported fuels get scarcer and more expensive, sooner or later these imported fuels will stop flowing to Hawaii, and sooner or later Hawaii must arrive at 100% renewable generation. Everyone in Hawaii, including the HECO Companies and their customers, will be much better off if we arrive at 100% renewable generation through intention and planning, rather than through crisis and failure to plan.
