Japan’s Renewable Energy Institute has published data on renewable energy’s contribution to the nation’s energy mix, using data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The METI data shows solar PV rising to 4.3% of electricity production over the course of 2016, a dramatic increase from 2015, when PV represented only 2.7% of production.

MOEA credits the passage of the nation’s feed-in tariff under the Renewable Energy Development Act with this growth, noting that installed PV levels in the Southern Region have increased more than 100-fold since 2008. Feed-in tariff levels are currently at US$ 0.15-0.22 per kilowatt-hour.
Honduras: 232 MW of PV projects receive three cent bonus

With this bonus, the projects will receive $0.18/kWh under the nation's feed-in tariff, which offers 15-year contracts. The feed-in tariff is limited for the first 300 MW of projects and the remaining 67 MW will receive $0.15/kWh.

Anyway, it’s progress that the enemies of solar like the Breakthrough Institute are now reduced to hoping that other countries will be unable to match Germany’s cost reductions. A couple of years earlier their tune was still “solar is too expensive.” That talking point has been retired.
