THE Confederation of Solar Developers of the Philippines is pushing for a new concept in lieu of a third round of feedin tariff to support the sector, an industry official said over the weekend.

Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi is not inclined to a third round of feed-in tariff to ease the burden of consumers from high electricity rates.

The National Renewable Energy Board submitted to the Energy Department the proposed third round of feed-in tariff rates for solar and wind power projects.

The National Renewable Energy Board has endorsed a lower feed-in tariff rate for the additional 200 megawatts of wind projects at P8.49 per kilowatt-hour, an official said Wednesday.

The Energy Regulatory Commission approved a solar feed-in tariff of P8.69 per kilowatt for an additional capacity of 450 megawatts

The Energy Regulatory Commission approved models for the renewable energy payment agreement, or REPA, and the renewable energy supply agreement, or RESA, that will pave the way for the collection of the feed-in tariff of P0.0406 per kilowatt-hour starting January.

The FIT-All, a universal levy to be collected from power consumers for the benefit of renewable energy producers, will become another line item in electricity bill, similar to the universal charge.
