Articles about Chevy’s Bolt

We’re now on our second Chevy Bolt and as a result I’ve written a lot about the Bolt. In addition there has been a number of news stories about the Bolt and GM’s on and off again plans to produce the car in the future. I am assembling the articles here for my friends, colleagues, and family members who drive a Bolt.

Replacing Rear Wiper Blade on the Chevy Bolt EV

By

Our 2017 Chevy Bolt EV is about 18 months old. The windshield wipers were beginning to streak so I decided to replace the wipers. Despite that the replacement wipers for the windshield were not exactly the same size as the originals, they were easy to replace. However, the rear wiper looked more challenging–and it lived up to expectations.

In part this is due to the good deal we negotiated with our local Chevy dealer here in Bakersfield. Our non-electric friends want the same deal or something similar.

Driving the Chevy Bolt EV–Our Impressions

We leased a Chevy Bolt EV in early November 2017. I’ve been driving the electric vehicle daily since then. We’ve also taken it on several round-trip excursions of 300 to 600 miles. I know enough about the car, its pluses as well as its minuses, to now comment knowledgeably on operating it.

EV Road Tripping: Bakersfield Bolt to Yosemite via US 395 and the “East Side”

In mid August we took our annual vacation to Toulumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park. We drove the family car. Nothing special about that per se, we’ve been doing it for years. What was different was that we drove a Chevy Bolt EV, an electric car. And we drove it up the “East Side” on US 395, one of the nation’s most scenic highways.
